OBITUARY
Ellingson.
Ole Ollingson died at his home in Kendallville, Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock, Sept. 29th. He was born the 25th of August 1856 neear{sic} Bergan, Norway, and was at the time of his death 64 years, 1 month , and 4 days old. He came to America with his parents Elling and Martha Ellingson, in 1862, and resided in Winneshiek county all his life with the exception of a few years when the Ellingson family lived in Al{l}amakee county. He was married to Julia Hanson the 26th day of January 1884. His wife and five children survive him. These are Mrs. E. N. Stinson, Gary, Minn., Mrs. C. A. Barnes, Minneapolis, Minn., Emma, Eleen and Olive, who are all at home. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, namely John Ellingson, Cresco, Ia., Hans and Peter Ellingson, Turtle Lake, N. D., Mrs. Andrew Stinson, Cresco, Ia., Mrs. John Boe, Turtle Lake N. D., and Helen Ellingson, Waukon, Ia., and two grandchildren Ellis and John Stinson. The deceased was sickley{sic} for several years, but was not confined to his bed until about one week before he died. He suffered much, but never complained; and was glad and satisfied to go when death came to relieve him of his sufferings, fully convinced that Jesus, our blessed Saviour, had atoned for all his sins, and in whose name he slept away peacefully and quietly. He was conscious to the very last and said goodbye to his wife and children who were at his death-bed. He was an exceptionally quiet and pleasant man and will be very much missed by his dear ones as well as his neighbors and other friends. The remains were laid to rest at Orleans cemetery where he will rest in peace until the final resurrection.
The funeral took place Sept.{sic} 1, from Ellingson’s home in Kendallville, where his pastor, Re. H. M. Normann spoke briefly, then the long procession led the way to his old church, the Orleans Church where the rest of the service was held, the pastor speaking on the text, “There remaineth therefore a rest for the people of God.”
The church was filled with people, the casket was covered with floral tributes. Mr. Ellingson had many friends, and they all like to hear that he died as a firm believer in Christ as his personal saviour.Card of Thanks.
We desire to express our thanks to our friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our husband and father; also for the many and beautiful flowers which were presented; and the tokens of sympathy and love in this our deep sorrow and bereavement.
