Mrs. J. Kirkeby received the sad news Monday that her grandfather Mr. Dahlen of Glenwood had died the night previous.

THE SILENT REAPER.
The remains of Ole J. Dahen, whose death occurred on December 19th at his home in Glenwood township, were interred in the Glenwood cemetery on Thursday last, the funeral services being held in Rev. Scarvie’s church at one o’clock, preceded by a prayer at the home at 12 o’clock. Mr. Dahlen was born January 23, 1832, in Hadaland, Norway. He was married there to Ingri Field and they came to America in 1862, locating on the farm that they have since occupied. Twelve children were born to them, seven of whom survive. They are Mrs. J. D. Hexom of Decorah, Mrs. Jens Ramsay, Mrs. Lara Lee, Andrew and Otto Dahlen, of Glenwood, Mrs. Charles Hexom of Madison, S. D., Mrs. Albert Holkesvik of Crookston, Minn. The latter came to attend the funeral and returns home to-day.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Jan. 23, 1833 which does not agree with the above. He is buried in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery.
