OBITUARY.
MRS. HAROLD SERSLAND.
The death of Mrs. Harold Sersland on Thursday land is mentioned in our Centennial correspodnence{sic}. Mrs. Serland was a native of Norway, born in 1845, and came to America in 1869 with her husband. They settled in Glenwood township, where they resided for twenty years, when they moved into Frankville township. Their seven children,--Ole, Theodore, Carl and John, of Frankville, Halvor of Springfield, and Mrs. C. Corneliusen and Mrs. H. Olson of Humbolt county—survive and were present at the funeral. Mr. Sersland passed away seventeen years ago. The funeral was held last Sunday at the Washington Prairie church, Rev. Paul Koren officiating. Mrs. Sersland was of those pioneer mothers who leave their impress upon the community by their service in kindness and devotion to family and friends.

Mrs. Conrad Corneliusen and Mrs. H. Hanson of Humboldt came Thursday, called here on account of the illness of their mother, Mrs. Sersland.

Mrs. Sersland passed away at the home of her son John last Thursday, death being due to dropsy. She was about 70 years of age. The funeral services were held at the Koren church on Sunday and the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Bergit who was born Oct. 13, 1845 and died Aug.5, 1915. She is buried in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
