August Baltz arrived to-day to be present at his father’s funeral.

Fritz Baltz, after a week’s illness, passed away early Monday morning at his home in Castalia. He was born Aug. 28, 1853, in Strelitz, Mecklenberg, Germany. In the year 1879 he joined in holy wedlock with Minnie Zachow. To this union ten children were born, five boys and five girls: August, Carl, Wilhelm, Ernst, Fritz, Annie, Caroline, Bertha, Minnie and Louse. Minnie is the only child who has gone home before her father. She passed away last winter The rest of the children, except three, all reside around here. Mr. Baltz came to this country in the year 1882. He first settled near Postville and later bought a farm near Castalia and finally also a house in Castalia. Here he has lived the last few years. Besides his bereaved wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss his brother and cousins in Postville. The funeral will occur Wednesday at 1 o’clock p. m. from the Lutheran church here and the body will be interred at Postville by the side of his daughter. During his residence in this vicinity Mr. Baltz has made many warm friends who mourn his loss and sympathize with the family in their bereavement.
