Arthur Limberg age 84 of Decorah, IA passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.

Art was born March 14, 1940, in Woden, Iowa to Conrad and Marie (Meyer) Limberg. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Woden-Crystal Lake High School. Art worked on construction and drywall preparation, prior to joining the Army. After his term of service, Art met and married Nancy (Conley) in 1966 in Cherokee, Ia. They just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in September. He drove an egg truck for several years in the Woden area, and then he worked at a grocery store in Titonka and Woden, which led him to join Fareway Stores, Inc. in 1976 at Cherokee, Ia. He worked for various Fareway Stores in Iowa until 2002, when he retired as manager of Fareway in Decorah, Ia. In 2003, he began working at Oneota Golf Course on the greens maintenance crew for 20 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed refereeing basketball and working as a cook during his time in the service, umpiring many softball games in the Woden area, woodworking, golfing, and especially, fishing.

Art is survived by his wife: Nancy (Conley) Limberg of Decorah, his son: Greg Limberg of Decorah, his daughter: Amy Jensen and her husband, Chris, of Decorah. His grandson: Jackson Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his brother-in-law: Burdette Weaver of Paullina, Iowa, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Conrad and Marie Limberg, his sisters: Doris Leuwerke and her husband: Pete, and Mavis Weaver; his brothers: Don Limberg and his wife, Mavis; Ken Limberg and his wife Beverly.

As Art requested to be cremated, no burial or service will take place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Condolences can be sent to Helms Funeral Home or to Nancy Limberg.
