Minnie Baltz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baltz of this place was born near Postville, Iowa, Feb. 5, 1895{?}, and died at the home of her parents on Tuesday morning, Feb. 10, 1914. She was stricken with pneumonia on her birthday and passed peacefully away five days later. She was a student of the high school here, was in the senior class and was a favorite among her classmates. The entire community extends its heartfelt sympathies to the family in their sad and sudden bereavement. The deceased is survived by her parents, four sisters and five brothers. After a short service at the house at eleven o’clock, the regular funeral was held at the Lutheran church in Postville on Friday at one o’clock.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in the Postville Cemetery shows she was born Feb. 5, 1896 which does not agree with the above.
