Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Plunkett received a telegram from their children, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Ruwe, at Hastings, Neb. That their babe Glada Margaret, 13 months old, died that day, and they would come Friday to Hesper for the burial. Mrs. Plunkett met them at the train in Decorah, near midnight, and reached home at four o’clock Saturday morning, The funeral was held from the Friends church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. A large congregation attended and plainly showed that as far as human sympathy could go they would share the sorrow of the bereaved. This is the first death that has occurred in the Plunkett family. Mr. and Mrs. Ruwe, Mr. and Mrs. Plunkett and Mr. and Mrs. Ruwe, Sr., and the other relatives desire to express here in their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who so kindly rendered them assistance and sympathy in the bereavement which has fallen upon them.

Among those from other localities who attended the funeral Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hilleman their son and daughter from the southwestern part of Hester township, intimate friends of the family, also Mr. and Mrs. Ruwe, grandparents of the child, from near Spencer, Iowa, and John Plunkett, brother of Mrs. Ruwe, Jr., from Omaha.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born Oct. 5, 1912 and died Nov. 20, 1913. She is buried in the Hesper Public Cemetery.
