Linus Tekippe age 62 of Fort Atkinson, IA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 304 Maryville St in Calmar with Rev. Henry Huber presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar and after 9:30 a.m. at the church on Tuesday morning.

Linus Raymond Tekippe was born on April 12, 1961, in Decorah, IA, the son of Paul and Seraphia (Timp) Tekippe. Linus graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 1979. After high school he farmed the family farm while working for the Winneshiek County Road Department where he worked for almost 39 years. During this time continuing his passion for agriculture he worked part-time for Farmers Union Cooperative during the busy planting and harvesting season. In 2018, when he retired from Winneshiek County Road Department he started working full-time at the Farmers Union Cooperative in Fort Atkinson, IA for almost seven years. He married Paula Hackman on November 24, 1990. Together, they had two sons, Travis and Matthew. In his free time, Linus enjoyed spending time with family, doing things outside, grilling, hunting, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. Linus and Paula are members of the St. Aloysius Church.

Linus' survivors include his wife Paula Tekippe of Fort Atkinson, IA. Sons: Travis Tekippe (special friend Christine) of St. Charles, MO, and Matthew Tekippe of Austin, MN. Three brothers: Dale and wife Linda of Indianapolis, IN; William and wife Jan of Minnesota City, MN, and Ronald and wife Joanie of Council Bluffs, IA. Sister-in-law: Mary Ott and husband Jim. Eight nieces and nephews: Jonathan (Kim) Tekippe (children: Cecelia and Josephine), Emily (Aaron) Reddington (children: Quinn, Teddy, and Ford), Sarah Tekippe (husband Derek Skolnik) (children: Colin and Simone), Tina Tekippe (husband John Kanja), Leah Tekippe (Alex), and Eric (Jessica) Tekippe (stepdaughter Hayden), Jessica (Paul) Rosenberg (children: Grayson and Charlie), Kelsey (Alex) Whalen. Mother-in-law: Betty Hackman. Brother-in-law: Ed (Lisa) Hackman. Three sisters-in-law: Nancy (Dave) Einck, Donna (Dave) Taylor, and Kathy Sacquitne, and many nieces and nephews.

Linus was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Seraphia. Brother: Kenneth. Sister: Patricia.
