OBITUARY,
Fred Felsterman passed away Sunday, July 6, 1913, at 12:30 o’clock, at his home on West Main street, death being due to stomach trouble. He was ill only about three weeks prior to his death. Mr. Felsterman was born April 21, 1842, in Prussia. He came to America in 1862 and for six years resided in Kentucky. In 1866 he moved to Winneshiek county and has continued to reside here ever since. He was married on November 11, 1878, to Marie Saakel who, with their only child, Ida, survives him. Mr. Felsterman during his earlier years here was an employ of Peter Aye and Hanry Schultz in the brick yard, and for many years subsequent was a teamster and laborer. He enjoyed an extended acquaintance, and the respect of all who knew him. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the residence, Rev. Otto E. Schmidt officiating, and burial was made in Phelps cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Felstrmann but it shows he died in 1914. His gravestone also shows 1914 which is obviously in error.
