Mrs. Jos Pinkava of Austin, Minn., arrived here Wednesday to attend the funeral of her sister-in-law Mrs. Celestine Seifert.

Mrs. Celestine Seifert died at her home Tuesday, April 22d, 1913, about three miles north of town, death being caused from heart trouble. It was hoped and wished for her recovery for it was known that with her departure will be gone and missed a kind and good hearted woman, wife and mother. She died in the presence of her two sons and her husband at 9:45 p. m. She was born at Sepokov, Bohemia, Europe, on Sept. 12th, 1848, and her maiden name was Miss Mary Mikesh. In 1853 she came to America with her parents and they lived at St. Louis about two months before coming to Spillville. In May 1866, she was united in marriage to Celestin Seifert at Spillville. Two sons were born to them, Adolph, whose age is 26 years, now of Cedar Rapids, and Joseph of this place, 24 years old. After the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Seifert they moved to near Austin, Minn., where they lived about five years, then they moved back to near Spillville, which has since been their home. The funeral occurred Thursday, the 24th at the St. Wenceslaus church, Rev. Thos. Ballon conducting the ceremony, and she was laid to rest at the church yard cemetery. The pall bearers were Simon Michael, Frank Cheika, Thos. Taylor, Wenzel Zak, Anton Shevik and Matt Tupy.
O mother, you have left us but your kind words and deeds will still cling to our memory until we will also be called by Him to the truth and happiness where we shall meet again. Mr. Seifert and sons have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
