Early last Saturday morning, Feb. 15, Mrs. Helge Scott passed to her eternal rest. She was born in Fjeldahl, Norway, Oct. 12, 1864, where she spent the early years of her life. In 1888 she was married to Helge Scott. To this union five children were born, who besides her husband were left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. Two sons and three daughters, Andrew, Bertha, Anna, Theodore and Emelia were at home at the time of her death. She is also survived by her father who is living in Norway, and one sister and two brothers. She was always active in her church, and was always a woman of rare Christian grace and character. As poor health increased and her sufferings grew greater she truly “walked with God.” One seldom sees such an example of patient suffering and cheerfulness.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Bertha. Her gravestone in Orleans Lutheran Cemetery shows her date of death as Feb. 14, 1913.
