OBITUARY.
At 8 o’clock Thursday evening last, June 13th, Mrs. Loretta Webster Tuttle passed away after an illness of six months, leaving to mourn her loss a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Mary T. Hiatt of Mabel, Minn., and Benjamin and Robert Tuttle of Decorah. She is also survived by two sisters, and three brothers. One sister, Mrs. C. W. Rosa, and one brother, E. R. Webster, reside at Ossian, and another brother, W. S. Webster, resides at Postville. Mrs. Tuttle was born in Schoharie county, New York, on July 8, 1835. She was one of a family of eight, children of Daniel and Jane Webster, and came west with her parents at the age of seventeen. On April 25, 1866, she was married to Robert B. Tuttle and early in 1869, came to Decorah, where she has since resided. Mr. Tuttle died some years ago. While her home was the center of her best thought and activity, she found time to be not merely a good mother but a kind friend and a helpful neighbor as well. She was a member of the Unity church and liberal in her belief. Although she was in failing health for some years, it was not until December last that an illness came upon her which she recognized as fatal. During the months that followed she endured her suffering with patience. The funeral was held on Saturday last at 1 p. m., at the home of her son Benjamin, Rev. Willett officiating, and interment was made at the Centennial cemetery in Frankville township.
