OBITUARY.
On Tuesday, June 4th, at the German Methodist church at Canoe, occurred the funeral of Herman Henry Landmeyer, one of the oldest residents in Winneshiek county. Mr. Landmeyer was born on December 18. 1817, in Schale, Westpfalen, Germany, and died on June 2, 1912. He was married in 1837 to Adalaid Tebenhof and came to America in 1870. For two years they lived in the vicinity of Chicago and then came to Winneshiek county where they made their permanent home. Mr. Landmeyer is survived by two sons and two daughters, one daughter having passed away. Those who reside in this vicinity are Henry and George Landmeyer, the father making his home with the latter. Mr. Landmeyer was one of the oldest members of the local German M. E. congregation. Rev. Damerow officiated at the funeral.
