OBITUARY.
After an illness of several weeks following an operation for appendicitis and gall stones Thomas J. Hegg died on Friday last, April 26th, at the Lutheran hospital at LaCrosse. Mr. Hegg was born on November 8 1861{?}, in Madison township and has continued to reside in Decorah and vicinity all his life. He was married on January 29, 1896, to Catherine Theilich, who survives him. He is also survived by his father, Jacob Hegg, one brother and two sisters. The funeral was held last Sunday afternoon, Rev. Malon Willett officiating, and interment was made in Phelps cemetery. Mr. Hegg enjoyed a wide acquaintance and was known as a man of uprightness and integrity. Many friends join in condolence to the widow and other members of the family.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Phelps Cemetery shows he was born Nov. 8, 1862 and died Apr. 25, 1912 which does not agree with the above.
