The death of Eva, wife of John Hyak, took place at their home west of town on Wednesday evening, after an illness of several months. She had been totally blind for the past nine years, and death came as a great relief. Mrs. Hyak was born in Bohemia about 96 years ago. She is survived by her husband and three sons, Frank of Luverne, Minn., Joseph of North Dakota and John of Howard county. The funeral took place Saturday from the St. John church, Rev. Father Marshalek officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Graves WPA shows an Eva Hayeck who died in 1912 and is buried in St. John’s Cemetery; however, they show she was born in 1825 which does not agree with the above age.
