Died In Montana
The death of Leo Spriggs, formerly of Decorah, was recorded in the Baker (Mont.) Sentinel of April 14th, For the information of his many friends here we quote from the Sentinel:--
Leo Spriggs, who died April 5th of appendicitis, was buried Monday, Rev. Johnson conducting the services from the home of W. W. Peck and from the Baker church. Deceased came to Baker, a year ago with his brother-in-law, Mr. Peck, and took a homestead. His illness covered a period of only two weeks, and at death was 23 years of age. He leaves a mother, Mrs. J. W. Spriggs of Decorah, Iowa, brothers, William of Esmond, S. D., Fred of Maddock N. D., Walter of Toppenish, Wash.; sisters, Mrs. Wm. Peck, Baker, and Mrs. F. G. Leigh, of Thorne, N. D. All the relatives were here except a brother, Walter. Deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen, which order participated in the last rites. He was also a member of the Sons of Veterans. He was a young man of upright character and leaves besides his relatives a host of friends in Montana and Iowa. The remains were buried in Bonnevale cemetery.
