The funeral of Mrs. Christian Vangsness occurred Saturday afternoon from the house at one o’clock, conducted by Rev. Niellson. Mrs. Vangsness was born in Sogn, Norway, April 29, 1836, and died March 1st, 1911. She came to America in 1866. On December 27, 1867, she was married to Christian Vangsness. To them six children were born, one boy and five girls. She has left to mourn her loss a devoted husband and her five daughters, all of whom are married but Bertina, who still lives with the father; one brother living at Capron, Ill., John Iverson, and one sister, Mrs. Nesheim, living in Norway. She has been a great sufferer for years but of late a complication of diseases set in and her life has been despaired of for some time. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife to the interests of her home, a kind neighbor and will be kindly remembered by all her friends and greatly missed in her home.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Brita (Iverson) Wangsness. Her gravestone in Lincoln Cemetery shows her date of birth as Apr. 29, 1835. Also her husband’s name was spelled Christen.
