KILLED BY WOOD SAW
George Johnson, of Glenwood, Received Fatal Injuries While Working at Kallevang Farm.
Word came to Decorah yesterday morning at eleven o’clock that a serious accident had occurred at the farm of Jens O. Kallevang in Glenwood township and calling for the assistance of Dr. Swezey. When he arrived he found that the victim was George Johnson, the twenty-eight years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus. Johnson. He was assisting in running a wood saw and was standing beside the rig when the belt slipped off and caught him, throwing him against an iron truck. He struck on his head which was so badly crushed that the brain was exposed. His injuries proved so severe that death ensued before two o’clock. Mr. Johnson was one of the bright and industrious young men of Glenwood. He was married only last fall and beside his wife is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. The sympathy of a host of friends go out to bereaved ones in their affliction.
We understand the rig above referred to was the same one by which Carl Moen came to his death two weeks ago, and that another person has been injured by it.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Sept. 15, 1882 and died March 7, 1911. He is buried in Glenwood Lutheran cemetery.
