OBITUARY.
Gudmund Davidson, who for two years has been confined to his home on Jefferson street, died last Saturday, having just passed his eighty-eighth birthday. Mr. Davidson was a native of Norway, where he was born October 18, 1822. Coming to America in 1847, he settled on a farm near Lodi, Wis., where he continued to reside until 1878 when he came to Decorah and here he has since resided. He was married in 18{?} to Lio{?} Halverson who died eighteen years ago.
Eleven children were born to them, seven of whom are living. Miss Martina Davidson, Henry Davidson, Mrs. O. P. Ode of Calmar, Mrs. Rev. Magelssen of LaCrosse, Mrs. Spilde of Lodi, Wis., and Mrs. Iver Skjeie of Rosthron Canada. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. O. E . Schmidt officiating, and interment was made in the Norwegian cemetery.

Saturday Mrs. o. p. Ode was called to Decorah on account of the serious illness of her father, Mr. Davidson. She was autoed over by N. H. Nelson, arriving just at the moment of his death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows his wife’s name as Liv. He is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery. It also shows that he died Oct. 22, 1910; however, his gravestone shows 1909.
