Francis Deen Peterson, age 96, of Decorah died Feb. 5 at the Grandview Care Center in Oelwein after a short residency.

Francis is survived by his wife Marilyn; son Paul; daughter-in-law Charlene; grandchildren Andy, Laura, and Julie; brother Cordell; and sister Shirley (Swenson). He is preceded in death by daughter Susan, son-in-law Jim (O’Connor), and sister Beverly (Nolte).

Interment of ashes will take place at the LeRoy Minnesota Lutheran Cemetery at noon on Saturday, June 10, with lunch to follow. His life will be memorialized at Decorah Lutheran church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, with a social hour to follow.
