Denis Orin Tweten, passed into eternity on May 29, 2023, at the age of 66. He was a loyal and beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. His family and friends felt his love and loved him in return. He built his business, Upper Iowa Marine, from the time he started working there nearly 50 years ago, through the years he owned and recently passed it on to his oldest son. He definitely got in as much of what he loved to do in his short life as he could, living it to the fullest. They were years packed with travel, boating, camping, family, friends, casinos, figuring out where to eat next, probably too much Busch Light, coffee, Hersheys, ice cream, popcorn, funny movies, and just so much love. He started drumming in a band at age 14 and played with the Country Cousins for 40+ years. He graduated from North Winneshiek High School in 1974. He was a faithful Christian and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Most important to him was his family. He married Jolene (Fisher), his high school sweetheart, on September 28, 1974, and they had a beautiful marriage of nearly 49 years. He spent very little time apart from his wife and they loved each other deeply. He also loved spending time with his children - Jason and Tera (Willey) Tweten, Shawn Tweten, and Heather and Jonathan King. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye - Collin and Kaitlyn Tweten, Cole, Fisher, Jasera and Walker Tweten, Nevaeh Tweten and Niah King. There was never a dull moment around him. He liked to laugh and make those around him laugh. He will be terribly missed, yet we take comfort in knowing he is in His eternal home where we will join him again someday.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings - Sharon Tweten Henry, Beverly and Gary Stortz, Wayne and Arletta Tweten, Darlene and Charles Dahl, David and Jean Tweten, Randy and Marie Tweten, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell Tweten and Marlys Tweten Schulte, parents- in-law Arlin and Janet Fisher, siblings Larry Tweten, Shirleen Tweten and Lynette Tweten, nephew Michael Stortz, great nephews Nathan Borreson and Brady Stortz.
