J. J. Schmitz of Ossian Dead.
A telephone message from Bro. Schmitz of the Ossian Bee brings the intelligence that his father, Mr. J. J. Schmitz, died at one o’clock Wednesday morning from general exhaustion following an attack of influenza. Mr. Schmitz was seventy-two years old and is survived by three sons and three daughters, one of the latter being Mrs. A. C. Heck with whom he made his home. The funeral will be held Friday. The Republican joins with friends of the family in extending condolences.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1838 and died Mardh 9, 1910. He is buried in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.
