Miss Leah Roberts came last night from Fayette to attend the funeral of her grandfather, Mr. Weldon.

E. D. Weldon passed away at his home Sunday evening about six o‘clock. Funeral will be held to-morrow at the M. E. church.

Ranse Weldon from Moline, Ill., came Tuesday night to attend the funeral of his brother E. D. Weldon.

Memoir:--E. D. Weldon was born in Oswego, New York, March 20, 1828, and passed away at his late home in Burr Oak, Iowa, Jan. 23, 1910, aged 81 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was amrried{sic} to Mariette Holdridge, Jan. 1, 1852, who died in 1860. To this union were born five children, of whom only two survive, namely Mrs. H. W. Sheeley and Mrs. C. W. Brittendall. Mr. Weldon was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Wilbur, Oct. 2, 1864, at Fulton, Ill. To this union were born six daughters of whom four survive: Mrs. Jennie Ward, Mrs. Cora Sharp, Mrs. Dora Roberts and Mrs. Loretta Kimball. Besides these there remain to mourn the loss a wife, two brothers, fourteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, and a host of sympathizing friends. The deceased had been a soldier in the War of the Rebellion. He enlisted in the 75th Illinois Regiment in August, 1862, and was later wounded in the battle of Perryville, Ky. During a series of special meetings in 1890 he was converted and later joined the Methodist church and ever remained a faithful and most devoted member.
