Willard G. Brandt of Ridgeway, Iowa passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in Lacrosse, Wisconsin at the age of 88.

Willard Galen Brandt was born on October 29, 1934 to Harry and Norma (Borseth) Brandt in Decorah, Iowa. He joined the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Korea. He married Sandra Amundson on January 25, 1959. Willard worked all over the US as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his children: David Brandt, Diane Brandt, Dorie (Jeff) Pearson and Dawn Brandt, grandchildren: Jeremy Brandt, Sarah (Jake Miller) Brandt, Jacquolynn Brandt, Britanney Brandt, Tyree (Matt) Tackaberry, Tjay Truax, Cassandra (Dwight) Henry and Christian (Caroline Zimmerman) Pearson, great-grandchildren: Aidan Henry, Bowen Henry, Lucus Brandt, Gracyn Brandt, Everly Wilson, Amelia Tackaberry, Nora Tackaberry and Jake Miller Jr. and two siblings Donald Brandt and Donna Geinzer.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandy (2021), infant daughter Debra and a sister Betty Tatro.

Willard will be laid to rest at the Ridgeway Cemetery in rural Ridgeway, Iowa. Public graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11:30 am. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
