LENA BENDER.
Mrs. Lena Bender, who died on Nov. 22d, was born in Canada in 1835, where she was married to Louis Bender. They came to Winneshiek county in 1855 and settled in Sec. 35, Hesper township, where they made their home. Of eight children born to them five are living. Mr. Bender died a{b}out fifteen years ago. The funeral was held on Friday Nov. 26th.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Magdelena who was born Oct. 26, 1835 and is buried in the Locust Cemetery.
