Death of Chas. S. Weiser of York, Pa.

At York, Pa., on Wednesday, the 8th inst., Charles S. Weiser passed away, aged seventy-one years.
Older residents of Decorah will recall the deceased as the youngest brother of Horace S. Weiser, and a visitor here in early days. He was the last survivor of a family of nine children. Like his Decorah brother he was a financier and was extensively interested in the larger affairs of his home city. At the time of his death he was director in the York Co. National Bhani, Guardian Trust Co., the York Water, Gas and Turnpike companies and treasurer of the German Lutheran seminary. During his life he sustained a splendid record for integrity, fidelity and good citizenship, as well as for benevolences. He leaves a widow but no children. The funeral was held on Saturday last, the 11th, and among those in attendance was his nephew and namesake, Charles J. Weiser of Decorah.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 13, 1838 and is buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in York, PA.
