Julila M. Tuttle was born at Ypsilanti, Mich, Dec. 4, 1830, and died at her home near Burr Oak July 24, 1909, aged 78 years. She was married to Geo. Tillepaugh April 16, 1851. To this union were born six sons, all living. Her husband passed away Nov. 26, 1877. Mrs. Tillepaugh was one of the pioneer settlers of Winneshiek county of a quiet unassuming nature, a model mother and neighbor, and by her death the community loses a noble woman, one ever ready to help in sickness or need.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways; however, her husband’s gravestone shows it was Tillapaugh. I couldn’t find any evidence of her gravestone.
