Minnie Matilda Craby(sic) was born in Norway, Sept. 29, 1881, and when but a small child came with her parents to America. Her home has been in Freeport until her marriage Nov 29, 1905, to Francis Padden, and she has since resided in Frankville. Three weeks ago she went to Decorah to visit her mother Mrs. Craby and while there was taken sick and all that loving hands or medical skill could accomplish was done but after two weeks of intense suffering from spinal meningitis she passed away Thursday April 15th. It is always sad when death enters a household and lays his hand on a loved one, especially one as young as Minnie, and separates her from a loving husband and a little son who needs a mother’s tender care. An aged mother, several brothers and sisters are also left to cherish her memory besides other relatives and friends, who mourn her untimely death. The funeral services were held at the United Lutheran church in Decorah, of which she was a member, Rev. O. E. Schmidt officiating, and interment was made at the same place. The heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her maiden name spelled Kraby. They also show that she was born Sept. 19; however, the gravestone photo is not very clear. She is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
