Dennis Green, 80, passed away peacefully at home December 23, 2022.

Services are pending.

Dennis Donald Green was born November 24, 1942, to Roy and Evelyn [Haugen] Green. He grew up in Decorah graduating from Decorah High School in 1961. He married Ruth Magelssen on May 2, 1964, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Decorah. He served in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968. Dennis and Ruth raised three children, Cathy, Michele and Mike.

Dennis and Ruth moved to Minneapolis after their marriage and were living there when their children were born. The family lived there until 1975 except for the two years he served in the military. The family moved to Fort Dodge, IA in 1975 and then returned to Decorah in 1976 so he could complete his degree at Luther College in 1979.

Dennis wore many hats during his professional life, among them draftsperson, real estate agent, and woodworker. He enjoyed all he did and the people he worked with. Dennis left an indelible mark on all who knew him with his kindness, humor and selfless generosity. He gave of himself fully to his family and loved ones, making sure they were safe, secure and loved. As a master woodworker he created beauty and objects of joy for many people far and wide and was always willing to share his deep knowledge with others. What he brought to this world is irreplaceable.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children Cathy [Mike] Reicks, Michele [Ben] MacLennan, Mike Green [Rosemarie Fuentes]; grandchildren Emily Reicks, Bradley Reicks, Mitchell Lambert, Tyler Lambert, Lauren MacLennan; brother Richard Green, sister Nancy [John] Juve; brothers-in-law David [Penny] Magelssen, Mark [Liane] Magelssen; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Evelyn Green, in-laws Dorothy and Johannes Magelssen, and nephew Jens Magelssen.
