Word has been received of the death of Benjamin F. Allen, on the 6th inst., at Nantucket, Mass. Mr. Allen came to Hesper in the early days and in April, 1861, was united in marriage with Caroline Battey. They had three daughters, all passing away when quite young, and on Jan. 30, 1902, Mrs. Allen was taken. In the spring of 1905 Mr. Allen went to Nantuckett{sic} to make his home with sisters residing there. Mr. and Mrs. Allen were lifelong members of the Friends church and his life was a most exemplary one, although for many years he was a great sufferer. His pleasant smile and cheerful greeting will be long remembered by his many Hesper friends.
