OBITUARY.
MRS.JOHN JACKWITZ
Mrs. John Jackwitz, mention of whose critical illness was made in last week’s REPUBLICAN, passed away Wednesday at the home of her son Rudolph in Minneapolis, but the news of her death did not become public until after the paper had been printed. The remains were brought home and the funeral was held Monday, Rev. O. E. Schmidt officiating.
Mrs. Jackwitz was born in Madison township, June 23, 1857, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kjos. She was married to John Jackwitz in 1873 and to them five children were born. Three of these—M. C. Jackwitz of Kenmare, Mrs. Austin Luros of Decorah, and Rudolph of Minneapolis—with their father survive. In their affliction the family have the sympathy of many friends.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Anna. She died Feb. 24, 1909 and is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
