MRS. ROBERT KENNEDY.
Mrs. Robert Kennedy died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Jule E Tucker, 3212 Holmes Ave., Minneapolis, Monday morning, Feb. 15, at 4:30 o’clock. Mrs. Tucker{sic} was born June 12, 1825, near New Haven, Conn., her maiden name being Nancy Dailey. The family moved to Medina Co., Ohio, in 1834, where the deceased was married June 8, 1848, to Robert Kennedy. One child was born to them, she who is now Mrs. Tucker. In September, 1858, they came to Winneshiek county, Iowa, settling in Decorah. Later they moved to Hesper township, where they continued to reside until Mr. Kennedy’s death, which occurred Aug. 14, 1891. Mrs. Kennedy then went to live with her daughter near Burr Oak. When Mr. and Mrs. Tucker went to Lake Benton, Minn., in November, 1892, Mrs. Tucker accompanied them, and continued her home with them when they took up their residence in Minneapolis ten years later. Her final illness was the result of a severe cold and lasted about six weeks. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the house. At 1:30 p.m., conducted by Mrs. John Ives, and the remains were brough to Decorah and from here taken to Burr Oak for burial, yesterday. Mrs. Kennedy will be kindly recalled by old time residents as a good neighbor, who after a long life has entered upon her rest.
