THE SILENT REAPER
MRS. E. A. KENYON
A host of friends both here and at Ossian and Frankville will sympathize with City Marshall E. A. Kenyon in the affliction which came to him on Saturday through the death of his wife in Southern California, whither she had gone two months ago for a visit with her sons and in the hope of help from illness that had been her portion for a number of months.
Mrs. Kenyon’s maiden name was Emma Ackerson. She was born May 18, 1852, at Frankville, and was married January 20, 1878, to E. A. Kenyon. Four children were born to them. Their only daughter died in infancy. The surviving children are Marz, Clarence and Harry. Of her parental family four sisters and two brothers are also living. They are Mrs. Mary Scott, of Cherokee, Mrs. Lizzie Demming of Avoca, Mrs. Harriet Steward of Manilla, and Mrs. Delia Ingersoll, residing in Missouri, James Ackerson in California and Garrett Ackerson of St. Louis. The larger part of Mrs. Kenyon’s life has been spent in Frankville and Ossian, the latter place being the family home previous to coming to Decorah to reside. In all her relations as wife mother and neighbor the deceased was a good woman whose departure will be regretted by many friends.
The remains are on their way east I charge of Clarence Kenyon and the funeral will be held at the Centennial church near Frankville.
