Dan Donaldson died Saturday morning last in a hospital in Chicago, whither he had gone for surgical treatment for cancer of the stomach. His death was entirely unexpected and too many of his friends and acquaintances it was a matter of surprise as they were not aware he was ailing. The remains were brought home Monday morning and the funeral was held yesterday morning. Rev. Fr. Mullen officiating. The deceased was born in 1861 at Lone Rock, Wis., but has resided here ever since he was a young man. He was married on April 22, 1903, to Miss Mary Wilson who survives him.

Transcriber’s Note: There is a Daniel Donaldson buried in St. Benedict Cemetery; however, both the year of birth and the year of death is off by one year. His gravestone shows he was born May 8, 1860 and died January 23, 1908. The date of death agrees with the above except for the year.
