DEATHS. The death of our valued friend James S. Brooks is announced. This event occurred on Saturday last, at his home in Ossian, resulting from typhoid fever, after an illness of two weeks.

Our acquaintance was not particularly intimate, but sufficiently so to permit us to believe him a true friend, ,and as was his nature in such cases, a warm one.

We condole with his relatives and friends over their loss.
