DIED - At Ossian, with Dropsy on the heart, Ida Eliza, daughter of James S. and Mary Brooks, aged 3 years, six months and 10 days.

Note: Little Ida likely is buried in the Hillside cemetery near Ossian. WPA records record her father, James S. Brooks (1831-1866), as buried there. James' death notice has also been posted on this board. US census taken in June 1860, Ida E., age 3, is enumerated in the household of her parents James S. & Mary Brooks living in Military twp. Winneshiek co. IA.
