SUDDEN SUMMONS.
Mrs. Alberta Lincoln-Appy Died Suddenly at Seattle, Leaving a Baby Daughter Only Twelve Days Old.
The home of Albert Lincoln was cast from great happiness into deepest sorrow, Sunday evening, by a telegram from Seattle announcing the sudden death of Mrs. Alberta Lincoln Appy. Just twelve days before a little daughter—the second one—had been born to Mrs. Appy and the latest information had come in a letter received last Friday saying that she and the little one were both doing nicely. That the end was indeed sudden was shown by a letter received Monday morning, written on Thursday by Mrs. Appy, in which she gave evidence of her happiness and pleasurable anticipation in caring for the little life that had been given her. All the information that the telegram vouchsafed was that death was due to heart failure. Besides her parents, husband and babe, deceased is survived by another daughter, Ernestine, aged seven.
Mrs. Appy was born Jan. 24, 1882, at the farm in Hesper township, where he earlier years were spent, The family came to Decorah to reside when she was a little girl and here she remained until 1899 when {s}he joined her mother at Wagoner, {?}. T. where Mrs. Lincoln was teaching. There she met and married Ernest Appy, the date of their marriage being June 1, 1900. After a year spent in the {?}uth they resided three years in Denver, and the past three years they have lived in Seattle. As the only child she was the light of the home circle and there was a particular bond of love manifested between her and her grandmother, who, in her advanced age, feels her sudden loss most keenly, ever to physical prostration. In her girlhood Mrs. Appy joined the Congregational church of Decorah, but she later changed her religious affiliation to the Episcopal church in order that she might worship with her husband. During the past two months her mother has been with her, which is a consolation and an assurance to her relatives and friends that she had all the care and attention that human aid could give. Mr. Lincoln departed for Seattle Monday to be present at the funeral, which will be held to-day or to-morrow. Interment will be made at Seattle.
