Samuel Gove of Bennett, Neb., came to attend the funeral of his aunt Mrs. Miles. Thirty-six years ago Mr. Gove was a pupil in the Hesper primary taught in the old Quaker meeting house, and not having been here since that time he found many changes. But he much enjoyed meeting several of his old school mates, who are now among our substantial citizens.

Caroline Worth, daughter of Joseph and Lydia Worth, was born in Vermont Feb. 28, 1826. Was united in marriage with George Miles April 10, 1845. Removed from Vermont to Iowa in 1855, and until eight years ago resided in Hesper and Newbury townships. Eight years ago. Mrs. Miles went to Nebraska where she made her home with her daughter Mrs. Wetherell. To Mr. and Mrs. Miles were born four children, Mrs. Florence C. Burt of Hesper, who was with her mother at her death, Dilwyn G. Miles of North Dakota, Carroll Miles of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, and Mrs. Estella Wetherell of Lincoln, Neb. The husband father departed this life April 30, 1865. The deceased was a life long member of the Friends church, a faithful, self-sacrificing Christian, confident of the glories beyond. She often expressed her longing to depart and be at rest. She found rest on June 13, 1908, at the ripe age of eighty-two years, three months and fifteen days. Funeral services were held in Hesper Friends church on the afternoon of the 18th, Rev. H.C. Carter officiating. Among the relatives from abroad who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Tabor, Miss Mary Tabor, Mrs. J. C. Miner and Miss Delia Miner of Mabel, R. R. Worth of LaCrosse and Samuel Gove of Bennett, Neb.
