Died in Chicago.
Edward P. Barry, husband of Mrs. Nellie Landers-Berry, died last Saturday at their home, 4330 Greenwood Ave, Chicago, and his remains were brought to Decorah Tuesday and interred in Phelps cemetery. Mrs. Barry and her daughter and son and Mrs. Katherine Lott accompanied the remains. Two other children by his first wife—Fred E. Barry and Mrs. Ada Bair, also survive him.
The Chicago Tribute, speaking of the deceased, said:
“Edward P. Barry, for twenty-five years in the life insurance business, died on Saturday at his residence, 4330 Greenwood avenue, after an illness of seven months. His death was due to illness brought on by overwork.
“Mr. Barry was born in Canada and came to Chicago in 1890, accepting a position with the Mutual Reserve Life Insurance company. Later he became Chicago manager of the Bankers’ Life Insurance company of New York. Two years ago he organized the Preferred Life Insurance company, of which he was manager.”
Mr. Barry was a man of genial temperament, well educated, a fluent conversationalist, and made friends with ease. During visits made to Decorah he met many of our people whose sympathy goes out to the family in their bereavement.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways. I can’t find any record of his burial in Phelps Cemetery.
