Mr. Patrick Mara, a former pioneer settler of Bluffton township, passed to his eternal reward Friday last week at the home of his son John Mara in Cresco, and was buried on Sunday at the Bluffton Catholic church, Rev. Father Hawe of Decorah officiating. Mr. Mara was a native of Ireland, born in the county of Tipperary, and came to this county in the early fifties, settling first near Steubenville, Ohio, before coming to Iowa. Mr. Mara was highly respected by all who knew him, as was fully shown on the day of his funeral by the large concourse of friends and old neighbors who followed his remains to their last resting place. Mr. Mara leaves to mourn his loss an aged wife, two sons and one daughter and several grandchildren.
