Eileen Evelyn Smith, age 86, of Rochester, Minn., passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at The Homestead at Rochester in Rochester, Minn.

Eileen was born May 5, 1936 in Winneshiek County, Iowa to Lester and Ella (Naab) Barnes. She spent 25 years at JC Penny as a seamstress. She loved sewing, camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She was united in marriage to Earl Edward Smith for 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Terry Smith; grandson Cory; son in law, Stephen Bauer; brothers, Richard (Donna), Ronald (Ila), Allen and sister, Elizabeth (Spencer) Mostrom.

She is survived by her children: Kristi Bauer, Lynn (Tom) Schaefer and Kevin (Carol) Smith; brother, Kenneth (Yvonne) Barnes; and sister, Dorothy (John) Esse; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Kathryn Hovden, Karen Dehning, Darlene Frana and Joyce Smith.

A memorial service for Eileen will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Hudson, Iowa.
