BURNED TO DEATH.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Larson
Victim of Terrible Accident
Sunday Morning.
While the older members of the family were absent from home Sunday morning the nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Larson living near the stone mill, was burned so badly that death resulted Monday night. Just how the accident occurred is not known, but it is supposed that in attempting to remove something from the stove her clothing caught fire. She ran into the yard, screaming, and Thos. Gilman, who saw her ran to her assistance, but before he could loosen her clothing she had been burned fatally. The child was taken to the home of her grandmother and Dr. Daubney was called but all that could be done was to relieve her suffering as much as possible. Words are but feeble things to express the sympathy that is felt in such a distressing case as this.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Clarissa Stella who was born in 1897 and died Oct. 15, 1907. She is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
