Kenneth Eugene “Boyla” Gerleman, Sr. 61, of West Union, Iowa died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home in West Union, Iowa. Kenneth was born April 2, 1960 to Eugene and Joanne (Kupka) Gerleman in Decorah, Iowa. He graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1978.

On September 7, 1985 Kenny was united in marriage with Lisa Meyer. Three daughters were born to this union. They later divorced. Kenny was united in marriage with Ann Pape on May 9, 1998. One son was born to this union. Ann passed away October 8, 2005. Kenny worked for H & H Distributing for many years, Dessel-Roach Carpeting and Crystal Distribution, retiring in 2020.

Kenny enjoyed playing Euchre, collecting diecast race cars, especially #88 Dale Jarrett, watching sports and going to the Top Hat. He was a big fan of the Washington Redskins, Iowa Hawkeyes and Baltimore Orioles. He loved his Wednesday visits to Fort for hot beef and visiting his mother, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Kenny was the best, proud Papa to his grandkids, always enjoying their visits. He always was the life of the party and gave the best hugs whether you were a friend for a day or many years.

Surviving Kenny are his fiancée, Brenda Brockman of West Union, Iowa; his children, Kendra (Pat Nuehring) Gerleman of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, Karissa (Dusty) Harrington of Waukon, Iowa, Kandis (Steven Bilden) Gerleman of Clermont, Iowa and Kenny Gerleman Jr. of West Union, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jonah Larkin, Kaydence Harrington and Peyton, Kannor and Piper Nuehring; mother, Joanne Gerleman of Fort Atkinson, Iowa; eight siblings, Dan (Christina) Gerleman of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Pat Tussler of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, Bob (Terri) Gerleman of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Tom Gerleman of Rockford, Iowa, Jamie Gerleman of Festina, Iowa, Pam (Alan) Severson of Calmar, Iowa, Tim Gerleman of La Crosse, Wisconsin and Ron (Heather) Gerleman of Calmar, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends..

Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Gerleman; father, Eugene Gerleman; brother-in-law, Brian Tussler; and one niece, Gabrielle Gerleman.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Fayette County Fairground Pavilion in West Union, Iowa.
