George Child, the eldest son of Amasa and Carrie Child passed away at his home in Mabel Thursday, June 4, 1931, at the age of 38 years. The funeral was held June 6 with burial in Decorah.

The deceased was a resident of Decorah for several years. The past few years he had been depot agent at Mabel. He is survived by his wife; one half brother, Charles Child of Winona; three half sisters, Mrs. Alice Ferris of Waukon, Mrs. Louis Berven of Centerville, South Dakota, Mrs. Harry Creathbaum of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Amundson and family of near Decorah.
