An Old Resident Gone.
John Kreutter, one of the old residents of Winneshiek county, passed away last Friday at his home I Canoe township. Infirmities of age had rested heavily upon him for some time and were the cause of his death. Mr. Kreutter was born in Talheim, Wurtemburg, Germany, July 20th, 1920, coming to American in 1847 and to Iowa in 1856. On March 3, 1863, he was married and his aged widow and four children of a family of nine survive. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Gripman school house, Rev. H. W. Schneider of the German church officiating. The remains were interred in the Canoe cemetery. Mr. Kreutter was one of those who is ever counted a good husband and father, a good citizen.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in the Russell Cemetery shows the year of death as 1905.
