Mrs. Donald Jenkins, Former Decorah Resident, Dies

Word had been received here of the sudden death of a former Decorah woman, Mrs. Donald Jenkins nee Barbara Giesen. Mrs. Jenkins died Saturday at a hospital in Palmetto, Fla. at the age of 36. Death was attributed to a blood clot on the brain.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Decorah and is a graduate of Decorah High School.

She is survived by her husband; 11 children ranging from 20 to 3 years of age; her mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Enyart of Orange, Calif. two brothers, Allan Enyart of West Union and Gary Enyart of Orange, Calif. and a sister Mrs Norb (Nola) Palmer of Waukon.

Her father, Carl Giesen, died in action at Pearl Harbor during World War II.

Local relatives of Mrs. Jenkins are a great aunt, Mrs. Tilla Branhagen of Decorah, an aunt, Mrs. Thelma Pahl of Decorah, and uncles, Phil Giesen of Calmar and Donald Johnson, Decorah.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, July 3 at Edwards Funeral Home, 433 11th Ave. W., Palmetto, Fla.
