Marvin P. Sexton of Burr Oak died of a sudden heart attack Friday at the age of 43. Mr. Sexton, an employee of Holland Bros. Construction for the past 19 years, was stricken while he was working with a crew at Monticello, Ia.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Burr Oak with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Father Kenneth J. Lukan gave the funeral mass. Pallbearers were Frank Holland, Harold Holland, Fred Holland, Emmet Nerlie, Virgil Baumler and Earl Knox. Fellow employees of Mr. Sexton, were honorary pallbearers. Alan Sensor was organist and Marlin Fretheim was soloist.

A rosary service was held Sunday evening at Steine Funeral Home where arrangements were made.

Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife, Ruth; his mother, Mrs. Sam Cassel, Bluffton, and two brothers, Parnell Sexton of Burr Oak and Robert Sexton, of Marion, Ia.

A native of Bluffton Township, Marvin Sexton was born December 20, 1929. He received his education in the rural schools. He served five years with the United States Army and saw military service overseas during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and St. Bridgets Church.

Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his father, Steven Sexton, and two brothers.
