Linus Tupy, age 93, of Fort Atkinson, IA died on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Rev. Robert Gross presiding, burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville.

The family requests all attending to please wear a mask.

Linus Tupy was born June 3, 1928 on the family farm near Ft. Atkinson to William and Viola (Huber) Tupy. Linus was baptized and confirmed in his faith at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and attended country schools in rural Ft. Atkinson. Following school, Linus farmed alongside his father on the family farm. He met the love of his life, Rose Hageman, during a dance at the Inwood Ballroom in Spillville IA. The two united in marriage on August 16, 1950 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar by Rev. Peter J. Friedman. To this union they were blessed with seven children. Together they farmed west of Ft. Atkinson. He enjoyed gardening, farming, he loved his animals, visiting with relatives and friends, playing cards, listening to old time music, and in his later years, watching RFD TV. He was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and also a member of the Holy Name Society.

Linus is survived by his six children. Daughters: Norma (Jim) Coolidge, Eau Claire, WI; Judy (Joe) Kuisle, Rochester MN; Donna (Bruce) Meyer Goodhue, MN; and Sharon (David) Hackman Ft. Atkinson, IA. Sons: Bob (Joan) Tupy, Calmar, IA and Gary Tupy, Ft. Atkinson, IA. Daughter-in-law Patty (Ron) Krivachek. Grandchildren: Adam (Sandy) Coolidge, James and Kimberly Tupy, Andrew (Kara) Kuisle, Louis (Amber) Kuisle, Conrad (Cortney) Kuisle and Jolene Kuisle, Justin (Nikki) Meyer, Allison (Mike) Bartlette, Lucas (Courtney) Meyer, Matt (Michelle) Tupy, Nicole Tupy, Lisa (Bryan) Winther, Dalton (Macey) Hackman, Cody Hackman, Chad (Jessica) Hackman and Shannon (Aaron) Hurd. Great-grandchildren: Emma, Hannah and Joshua Coolidge; Austin Tupy; Donovan (Hannah) Smith, Ethan Smith; Garrett and Piper Kuisle; Eva and Camden Kuisle; Kevin, Eric and Abigail Meyer; Madeline, Patrick and Grant Meyer; Axel and August Bartlette. Menae, Maddox, McKoda, Maysa and Myles Tupy; Jason and Preston Hurd. Great great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Benson Smith. Brother: George (Shirley) Tupy, Fort Atkinson, IA. Sister: Doris Engen, Decorah, IA. Sister-in-law: Lucy Hageman, Ossian, IA. Brothers-in-law: Edward Mikota, Ossian, IA and Paul (Colleen) Hageman, Decorah, IA.

Linus was preceded in death by his wife: Rose in 2019. Son: James Joseph Tupy in 1993. Great grandson: Michael Coolidge. Parents: William and Viola (Huber) Tupy. Brothers: Alvin and Donald Tupy. Father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Elizabeth (Kriener) Hageman. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Gordon Engen, Martha Mikota, Catherine (Leo) Ott, Conrad (Gertrude) Hageman, Arnold Hageman and Anna (Edward) Ondrashek. Godson: Thomas Engen.
