Kathryn Uhlenhake age 97, of Ossian, Iowa died on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, IA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 402 East Main St. in Ossian, IA with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday with a rosary at 9:00 a.m.

Kathryn was born May 18, 1924, in rural Calmar, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Timp) Bullerman, and the last to survive. She was baptized at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, Iowa
On Oct. 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” Uhlenhake at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar. They established their home on the farm west of Ossian, where they raised their family of five children: Alice, Lois, Evy, Art and Jeff. In June of 1986, they moved into Ossian. Kathryn worked part time as a cook and a laundry assistant at the Ossian Senior Hospice for over 20 years.
Kathryn was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and its Rosary Society along with Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed card playing, puzzles, bingo, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially enjoyed the visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include; Alice McKim of Streator, IL, Lois (Dave) Sims of Palm Bay, FL, Evy (Robert) Matt of Mt. Vernon, Arthur Uhlenhake of Ossian, and daughter-in-law Nancy (Hageman) Uhlenhake of Ossian.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Tooley, Ann (Colin) Leslie, Jennifer (Billy) Rickards, Sean (Kristin) Wickey, Michele Matt, Bobbi Jo Matt, Ben Matt, Chad (Jody) Uhlenhake, Stephanie (Dayna) Uhlenhake, Bryan (Sheila) Uhlenhake, Travis (Kylee) Uhlenhake, Julie Uhlenhake and Rachel Uhlenhake;
20 great - grandchildren, Jessica (Craig) Banister and Dylan Tooley; Tyler Guise; Thomas, Isaac, and Adam Leslie; Jackson, Reagan, Kennedy, Truman, Lincoln, and Carter Wickey; Sydney and Will Uhlenhake; Emma, Wyatt, Elliot and Liam Uhlenhake; Levi and Logan Uhlenhake; one great –great grandchild due in November. Many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Ray Uhlenhake (2000), her son, Jeffrey (2014), her son-in-law, Bill McKim (2017). Her parents Joseph and Catherine Bullerman, sisters and brothers: Ray (Josephine) Bullerman, Angela (Hugo) Zweibohmer, Helen Bullerman, Leonard (Irma) Bullerman, Vincent (Leona) Bullerman.
Her father and mother-in-law, Theodore and Alice Uhlenhake; sister-in-law, Lucille U; brother-in-law, Walter U. in infancy. Four sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene (Louis) Tieskoetter, Virginia (Norbert) Reicks, Ruth (Linus) Elsbernd, and Shirley (John) Schmitt.
