Andrew Walsh, an old and respected citizen of this community, died yesterday morning after an illness of long standing, aged 77 years the 30th of last May. Mr. Walsh, the son of John Walsh and Mary Keefe, was born in Glenballyvally, Kilkenny County, Ireland on May 30, 1839. He came to this country with his parents when about 11 years old, settling on a farm in Dane County, Wisconsin. On January 29, 1867, he was married to Anastasia (Anna) Murphy in Waunakee, Wisconsin. Forty-six years ago he came to Minnesota and settled on the homestead where he died. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Edward and Patrick; sisters Ellen, Elizabeth, and Mary; daughter Mary Ann and son Arthur. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Anna; two brothers Lawrence and Michael; and eight children, two of whom are in North Dakota—John William, Patrick Lawrence, Edward Henry, Mary Anna, Arthur Charles, Bridget Ellen “Beezie”, Elizabeth Theresa, and Andrew PHILIP. The funeral will be held Saturday forenoon at the Plymouth Rock Catholic church, Rev. Father Andrew Burke officiating. The remains will be interred in the Plymouth Rock Cemetery.
